IN THE ESSENCE OF THE PLANT

What are essential oils?

Some Scents are simply there. Others have a deeper effect. Because they come directly from the plant - not from the laboratory.

What makes all-natural essential oils, how they work - and what you can look out for:

Pure natural - nature-identical - synthetic.

Not everything that smells good comes from nature. And not everything that sounds natural is natural. Three terms keep cropping up - with subtle but important differences:

1. natural essential oils

What they are:
They come 100% directly from the plant - from flowers, herbs, woods, roots or shells. They are unadulterated, without additives. And their origin is clear. Like real lavender oil from the flower or peppermint oil from the leaf.

Effect:
Only all-natural essential oils have an aromatherapeutic effect. They relax, revitalize, strengthen - depending on the essence.

Use:
You will find it in real room fragrances - quietly effective, gently accompanying, noticeably deep.

2. nature-identical essential oils

What they are:
They are produced in the laboratory. Their structure is similar to substances found in nature. They also smell like something natural - but do not come from the plant. This applies not only to Scents such as vanilla or menthol, but also to Klassiker such as lavender or lemon - because they can be produced more cheaply in the laboratory.

Effect:
The connection to the plant is missing. And with it the aromatherapeutic effect. What remains is the smell - but without depth, without resonance.

Use:
They are used where the Scent is the main focus - not the plant origin. Often in perfumes and cosmetics. Or in room fragrances, where a constant, intense Scent is particularly important.

3. synthetic fragrances

What they are:
They are created completely artificially in the laboratory - without any reference to nature. They imitate familiar Scents that cannot be extracted directly from plants - such as fig, berries or leather.

Effect:
They often smell very intense, but - like nature-identical oils - have no effect. Here, too, there is no connection to nature.

Use:
You can find them in cleaning products, for example - but also in high-quality room fragrances, where it is not the origin that counts, but a consistently intense Scent .

The effect of essential oils.

Natural essential oils have more than just a scent. They come from plants that naturally produce fragrances. And these substances don't just smell pleasant - they trigger something in you.

This is exactly what aromatherapy describes: the beneficial effect of fragrances on the body, mood and soul. It has been tried and tested for centuries - and is scientifically proven. Some oils relax. Others give energy, awaken clarity or inspire confidence. Find out why Scents influence our mood here.

Three Klassiker show how differently essential oils can work:

Peppermint invigorates.
Its fresh Scent promotes concentration and gives you new energy - when your head gets tired.

Orientation for your senses.

Our Scents accompany you - sometimes calm, sometimes invigorating. To make it easier for you to find what is good for you, we have divided them into five areas of effect:

Balance, grounding, energy, relaxation and cheerfulness.

Each effect stands for a feeling that can support you in your everyday life. You decide what you need. Our Scents will help you find it.

How are all-natural essential oils produced?

Naturally pure essential oils are created through careful processing, time and experience. The method is crucial - because only gentle extraction preserves the Scent and effect.

Two methods have proven their worth:

  • In steam distillation, the essential oil is extracted from the plant using hot steam - gently and without pressure.
  • During cold pressing, the oil is pressed from the plant - similar to juice from a fruit. Without heat, without additives.

Depending on the plant, a lot of raw material is needed: for 100 liters of Swiss stone pine oil, for example, up to 1,000 kg of fresh twigs. The result is a pure natural essential oil: unadulterated and highly concentrated. This is the only way it can really work in a room - subtle, perceptible, genuine.

How to recognize real Scents.

1. 100 % pure natural.

A high-quality room fragrance is based on real essential oils. Apple, leather or coconut cannot be obtained naturally. If a room fragrance smells like this, synthetic substances are involved.

2. clear statement of content

Many products mention plants such as lavender or rosemary - even if they do not contain any real oils. You can only recognize natural Scents if it is clearly stated that 100 % essential oils have been used - without additives.

3. fine instead of loud.

A natural Scent does not impose itself. It is quiet - but present.

4. well tolerated.

Many people react sensitively to synthetic fragrances - with headaches or discomfort. Natural essential oils have a different effect: gentle, clear, genuine.

What Looops Scents wears.

Each of our products starts with pure natural essential oils. In diffusers like Quint, it works pure. In scented candles, it mixes with vegetable wax. In scented sprays it combines with alcohol, in Reed diffuser with a plant-based liquid. Always genuine. Always effective.

Our Scents are never just a single note - but a composition of several essential oils that support and enhance each other. More than the sum of their parts. The result is a Scent that not only smells - but works.
