The diverse aromatherapy effects of lavender

Lavender oil plays a very special role in aromatherapy. It is known and loved for its balancing and relaxing effect. It helps to restore inner balance and reduce stress. The calming fragrance promotes a feeling of peace and serenity.

And even if it may sound contradictory at first glance, lavender oil has a great balancing power due to its variety of ingredients and helps to bring extremes back into balance. It can therefore also have a stimulating and uplifting effect when you are exhausted.

The origin of lavender

Lavender thrives in sunlight and lime-rich soil. Originally from the mediterranean region, it’s now mostly found in France, Bulgaria and England. It grows best at higher altitudes (600 – 1500m), where the contrast between hot days and chilly nights ensure the plant is resilient, while enhancing the quality and complexity of its components.

How lavender is extracted

Lavender is harvested when in full bloom and processed fresh. The pure natural essential oil is extracted by steam distillation. This extracts the valuable ingredients from the flower tips. Short transportation routes and fast processing are particularly important, as they guarantee the high quality of the lavender oil extracted. Every drop of pure oil is precious, because: Around 100 to 150 kg of lavender flowers are processed to make 1 liter of lavender oil.

Powerful nature. Gentle effect.

We create fragrance experiences for your feel-good moments. We are inspired by the wonderful nature of Salzburg.

We rely on the synergy effect. Several essential oils are combined in a finely tuned way to fully exploit the aromatherapeutic effect. This also makes our fragrances even more harmonious and well-rounded.

We have introduced our guidance system to make it easier to find your way around. And divided our fragrances into the categories of relaxation, grounding, balance, energy and Joy categorized.

You will find the scent of lavender in relaxation (Mußezeit), energy (Blütezeit, Wildkräuter), Joy (Almwiese) and Balance (Heimkehr).

Silence. Coming to rest. Serenity. The herbaceous-floral scent of lavender relaxes. Deep down. For a restful sleep. And an optimistic view of the future.

Even more about lavender

In which rooms is it best to use scented candle with lavender?

The scented candle with lavender is particularly suitable as a room fragrance for your living room or bedroom. The ethereal fragrance can also help you relax during a bath or just before going to bed. Light the candle about 30 minutes beforehand so that a pool of wax can form and you can draw on the full power of nature.

Different types of lavender

There are over 30 different types of lavender in nature. They all enrich the landscape with their diversity. In aromatherapy, a distinction is made between the "real" lavender oil fine or extra (Lavandula angustifolia) described here and, among others, lavandin oil, spikenard lavender oil and crested lavender oil. All these oils have a lot in common, but also very different modes of action.

The cultural significance of lavender

Lavender blossoms have been considered precious since ancient history. They were used as a balancing bath additive. Interestingly, the name lavender comes from the Latin word “lavare” – to wash. The plant is very popular and frequently used in natural medicine.

The ecological significance of lavender fields

Lavender fields play a crucial role in the earth’s ecology. Lavender attracts bees and other pollinating insects. Plant diversity contributes to a vibrant and varied animal population.
