The Aromatherapy Effect of Bergamot
Bergamot's scent transports you to sunny Tuscany, with its iconic pines and cypress trees. This essence of citrus lifts the heart, mind, and soul, instilling self-confidence, fostering positivity, calming fears – and nerves.
The bergamot in our blends is a uniquely versatile essential oil that adapts to other oils' properties. Combined with citrus oils, it brightens mood; with lavender, it promotes balance.
Bergamot Essential Oil Relieves Tension
Bergamot lightens dark days by stimulating both enkephalin (mood-lifter) and serotonin production (calms and relaxes). This combination counteracts inner restlessness, stress and sleeplessness.
Enjoy these benefits by adding a few drops of oil to a diffuser or an aroma lamp allowing the scent to fill the room gradually. Alternatively, our room spray offer an instant fragrance at the touch of a button, personalising your space and enhancing well-being immediately.
The Origin of Bergamot
Bergamot originated in Asia like its citrus relatives. It’s a cross between bitter orange and lemon, and Christopher Columbus is believed to have introduced it to southern Italy. Today, the ideal climate and abundant sunshine in Calabria has made the region well-known for the cultivation of superior-quality bergamot. The evergreen trees, growing up to five meters tall, bloom in spring with fragrant white flowers. Come autumn, these develop into fruits whose peels yield bergamot oil.
Extracting Bergamot Oil for Our Room Fragrances
Bergamot oil is yielded by gently cold-pressing unripe peels harvested from November to March. The oil boasts a yellowish to greenish hue and exudes a sweet, flowery, fruity scent with subtly bitter and oriental notes. Short transport routes and swift processing are crucial for maintaining the oil's high quality. 200kg of fruit peels are required to produce 1 litre of essential oil.
Powerful Nature. Gentle Effect.
Essential oils offer various positive effects on well-being, varying by composition. We leverage the synergy effect, finely tuning and combining multiple essential oils to maximize aromatherapeutic benefits and create more harmonious, rounded fragrances.
Choose from five effect categories tailored to your needs: Energy, Relaxation, Focus, Joy and Balance.
Find fragrant nuances of bergamot in Joy (Sonnenstund – Sunrise, Almwiese – Alpine meadow), Balance (Heimkehr – Homecoming), energy (Blütezeit – Spring flowers) and grounding (Waldruhe – Forest serenity) are included.
