Earth is held in two hands.

The Origin of Bergamot

Bergamot is a cross between bitter orange and lemon. Like the other two citrus fruits, it originates from Asia. Christopher Columbus is said to have brought it to Southern Italy. Today, Calabria is considered the home of this citrus fruit – and its essential oil. The climate and long periods of sunlight ensure excellent quality. The evergreen trees can grow up to five metres in height, and bear white, fragrant flowers in the spring. From autumn onwards, they develop into fruits. Bergamot oil is extracted from their peels.

How Bergamot Oil is extracted for our Scented Candles

Harvested between November and March, bergamot oil is obtained by gently cold-pressing unripe fruit peels. The oil exhibits a yellowish to greenish hue, a sweet, floral and fruity aroma, with a subtle tart, oriental undertone. Short transportation routes and swift processing are crucial to guarantee high-quality bergamot oil extraction. Although rich in beneficial aromatherapy properties, 200kg of fruit peels yield just 1 litre of this precious essential oil.

Powerful Nature. Gentle Effect.

We craft fragrances for magic moments of well-being, drawing inspiration from Salzburg's magnificent nature.

We insist on carefully-selected, high-quality, undiluted essential oils. This dedication ensures our fragrance blends always deliver the desired beneficial aromatherapy effects.

What do you long for? Relaxation, Joy, Focus, Balance, Energy? Our guidance system features these five categories to simplify your search for the perfect room fragrance.

You'll discover aromatic nuances of bergamot in our Joy (Sonnenstund – Sunrise, Almwiese – Alpine meadow), Balance (Heimkehr – Homecoming), Energy (Blütezeit – Spring flowers) and Focus (Waldruhe – Forest serenity) collections.

Indulge in relaxing, soothing breaks and allow bergamot's bittersweet scent to fine-tune your mood as you become lost in its calming embrace.
